Reverend Anika-Kafi Summers has been appointed by our Michigan Conference
Bishop, David Allen Bard, to be our pastor.
Following her graduation from Michigan Theological School in Ohio, Reverend Anika
has served as pastor at Garden City UMC in the Greater Detroit District and is currently
serving as pastor for the Rosebush and Leaton UMC in the Central Bay District of the
Michigan Conference.
Prior to her pastoral career, Reverend Anika, a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University
and Kent State University, worked in Higher Education and as the Nutrition Education
Director for the Detroit Kitchen Connect initiative of Eastern Market Partnership,
providing guidance, contacts, and financial and technical assistance for aspiring food
entrepreneurs.
Originally from Ohio and a long-time Michigan resident, Reverend Anika and her
daughter Natasha are looking forward to joining Trenton First United Church and we
look forward to welcoming them!
